Parent Portal Guide for Parents
Overview
This guide is designed to provide parents with instructions on how to access the Parent Portal, navigate its features, and manage their personal information, notifications, and text messages. Below, you will find illustrative images accompanied by detailed explanations, as well as a video at the conclusion of the guide.
Logging In
The school your student attends will activate your access to the Parent Portal.
Parents will receive an email containing their email (username) and password. They will be required to utilize this email and password for logging in. Parents should visit http://connect.adventisteducation.org or click on the Login in Now option in the email to login.
Parents who have not received the email or need to reset their password can go to http://connect.adventisteducation.org, and select the Reset Password option to create a new password.

Homepage
The homepage offers parents an overview of the student schedule, student messages, and student grades. The content on the homepage is filtered by the current quarter. Parents with multiple students in schools that utilize AE-Connect can select their names at the top to switch the view and access student information.
Grades will only display on the homepage for Grades 3-12.
Classes
Classes offer parents a comprehensive overview of all their student's courses for the term. Additionally, there is a term switcher that enables parents to select previous term.
Furthermore, parents have the option to directly click on the class name to access the detailed class pages and review assignments.
Student Messages
The Messages feature provides parents with access to the communication exchanged between the student and the parent. Additionally, parents have the ability to send messages through the dedicated area located at the top right of the parent portal.

Parents can see and send messages from the Parent Portal by selecting the message icon on the top right of portal next avatar.
Parent Profile
Parents have the capability to manage their personal information through the Parent Portal. To update their profile, parents should click on the icon located in the upper right corner and select Update Profile. This will open the profile flyout, enabling parents to make any required edits to their information.
Parent Email and Text Notifications
Parents have an option for opting in for email and text notification through the Parent Portal, which allows them to register to receive emails and notifications via text. Due to federal guidelines we cannot allow any exceptions with this signup method.
Parent Portal Sign up
Parents should log into the Parent Portal and update their user profile to select the email and/or text notification preferences. They can choose to opt-in to receive messages (emails) and notifications via text and email. Once the parent selects their preferences and saves, they will need to confirm their choice through a pop-up and then a confirmation text will be sent to them. The parent must respond with YES to the text in order to start receiving text notifications.
Progress Report Notifications
Parents can choose to received progress report notifications either daily or weekly. Daily progress reports are sent at midnight everyday. Weekly progress reports are sent midnight on Monday.
The full progress report is sent to the parent email and also in the Parent Portal. The text notification just lets the parent know their student has a progress report.
Missing Assignments Notifications
Parents can choose to receive missing assignments. Missing Assignment notifications are sent to parents 4 hours after the teacher marks an assignments as missing. The parent can see the full missing in the Parent Portal. The text notification just lets the parent know their student has missing assignment.
Attendance (Absent/Tardy) Notifications
Parents can choose to receive attendance notification if their student is absent or tardy. Notifications are sent 15 minutes after the school enters t he attendance code.
PARENTS MUST EACH HAVE A UNIQUE NUMBER. PARENTS CANNOT SHARE NUMBERS IN THE CELL PHONE SECTION.

Notifications are by student in the Parent Portal. Parents will need to select the student and activate notifications for the student, then save and proceed to select the next student and edit the profile to enable text notifications for the other student. This process should be repeated for all students for whom the parent is responsible.
