Skill Grades, Instructional Levels & Reading Level
Overview
This guide will cover how to complete Skills grades, Instructional Level and Reading Levels.
Skill grades can be found the class menu under Term Grade > Skills. The user has options to complete individual skills, or quick fill skills in groups.
Instructional Levels are found in Language Arts and Mathematics under Term Grade> Class Grades. These are radio boxes that are X, Y, YA and Z.
Reading Level is optional. Reading Levels accepts up to four characters. Reading Level is used to share with parents the reading level of the student using the reading indicator the school is using to measure.

Entering Skills Grades
The user navigates to class via the Classes menu or the Subject menu. Please ensure that the correct quarter is selected before completing term grades. Skills are required for Grades K-8.
It is advisable to focus on targeting classes as it helps to refine skills and enhance the ease of viewing.
In order to enter skills there are a three options.
Option 1: Click into the boxes to add a skill grade for each student individually.
Option 2: To save time, you can click on the name of the skill. A menu will appear with different options. You can select one of the available options to quickly fill that skill for all students.
Option 3: Another time-saving option is to click on the grade level heading. This will open an option menu where you can select one of the available options to quickly fill the skill for all students who have a blank box.
Posting Skills
When all schools are 100% complete either with the allow code or N/A the user must post the skills to commit them to the report card. The user posts skills by using the action menu (yellow +) to post skills. Once skills are posted they will have a green checkmark next to the student name.
Instructional Level
Instructional level is available in the classes under Term Grade > Class Grade. Instructional Level is only available Language Arts and Mathematics for Grades 1-8. Instructional Levels are assessed on X,Y, YA and Z.
X = Student is working with enrichment materials and/or accelerated instruction
Y = Student is using grade level materials and functioning without modification or extra assistance
YA =Student can attain grade level standards with accommodations
Z =Student is receiving modification of assignments
Where to see Instructional Level on AE-Connect
The user can go to Term Grade > Class grade in Math or Language Arts, select the grade to open the flyin to view the explanation of the instructional levels.

Reading Levels
Reading Level is optional. Reading Level is found under Language Arts for Grades 1-8.
