Missing Assignment Notification
AE-Connect now provides parents with the ability to receive notifications when a user has marked an assignment as missing using the / for missing assignments in AE-Connect.
Schools have the option to enable or disable this feature for parents, or parents can choose to enable or disable it for themselves. The notifications are student-specific, not parent-specific.
When an assignment is marked as missing there is a 4 hour delay before the parent is notified to give the teacher time to update the grade before a notification is sent.
School Setup for Parent
The school possesses the capability to configure notifications for parents. Prior to activating this functionality, parents are required to have Parent Portal access. Learn more about Parent Portal Access here.
Parent Portal access is essential as it empowers parents to independently manage these notifications.
School users can access Student Account > navigate to Parents/Guardians section. It is crucial for school users to ensure that the parent's email address is valid and that Portal Access is activated.
School users can click on the ellipsis symbol to Edit Parent account. Within the Edit Parent overlay, the school user will find the toggle button for Receiving Notifications. This must be enabled initially, following which they can choose the checkbox for Missing Assignments to activate email notifications for parents to receive updates on missing assignments from the school.
Parent Setup
The parent has the ability to set up notifications for each student. These notifications are specific to each individual student. When a parent is linked to a student and selects "Update Profile," they will be able to view the specific student for whom they are updating or activating notifications.
