Grid Edit_Ability to Mass Edit Fields

Overview

AE-Connect offers a feature known as Grid Edit, designed to enable schools to simultaneously view multiple fields for students, staff, or parents. This feature provides the capability to display multiple students and fields in a single view for updating purposes. It is important to note that while Grid Edit does not encompass an exhaustive list of fields, it does cover a specific set of fields.


Permissions

Grid Edit is regulated by permissions located in the School Profile > Organization. Users with the capability to manage Grid Edit will be able to access the screen to select students, parents, or staff and modify the fields.

When the user has access the Grid edit will be available in the School Profile > Gird Edit.

This section will describe how to use the Grid Edit for Students, Parents and Staff.

Selecting Names & Fields

The user should navigate to the School Profile and select Grid Edit. When selecting Grid Edit, the screen will change to display Grid Edit only. Initially the screen will be blank. The user will be able to choose Select Students, Parents or Staff to open the Add Student,Parent or Staff model. The user can select a student and use the > to move a student over to selected. The user can move all students by selecting >>. When the required students are in the Select box the user can select Save & Manage Fields to open the model to choose which fields the school wants to edit.

The Manage Fields model allows the user to choose which fields to edit. The user can select a field and use the > to move the field to the selected section. All fields can be moved by selecting >>. Once the required fields are in the selected section, the user can select Save to populate the grid and begin editing.

In the Manage fields flyout, the user can select +Create Template to save the templates for future use. The user can also select a saved templates from the Manage Fields.


Editing Fields

After the user selects Save in the Manage Fields flyout, the Grid Edit will populate with the selected students and fields for the user to edit. The user can select the fields with the mouse and use the tab button to navigate through the fields for editing. Once the user has finished editing the fields, they should select Save Changes at the bottom of the screen.

Download CSVs

Users have the option to download the grid edit as a CSV by using the Download CSV button in the grid edit menu. The download CSV functionality will only be accessible when the data on the screen has been saved. If the data on the screen is not saved, the Download CSV button will appear greyed out.

Exit Grid Edit

The user has the option to select "Exit Grid Edit" to return to the main AE-Connect Screen.
