School Minutes Report
Overview
The School Minutes Report calculates instructional minutes for your school based on your Day Templates and the Tracks applied within them. The report pulls its data from what has been set up on your school days, so accurate results depend on your day templates and track assignments being correctly configured.
A new feature allows you to exclude specific time blocks — such as lunch and recess — from instructional minutes, so the report reflects true instructional time rather than total scheduled time.
How the Report Works
1. Day Templates define the structure of a school day (start/end times, periods, breaks, etc.).
2. Tracks within each day template determine which schedule applies to which classes.
3. School Days have day templates applied to them, and the School Minutes Report reads from these assignments to calculate totals.
4. Excluded Time Blocks (new) let you mark segments like lunch and recess as non-instructional, so they are automatically left out of the minutes calculation.
Setting Up Excluded Minutes in Day Templates
Before running the report, make sure your day templates reflect which time blocks should not count as instructional minutes:
1. Open the Day Templates section.
2. Select the day template you want to edit.
3. Locate the new Exclude from Instructional Minutes section.
4. Select the time blocks to exclude (e.g., Lunch, Recess).
5. Save the day template.
Once saved, any school days using this template will automatically reflect the updated instructional minute calculations.

Running the School Minutes Report
Step 1: Choose Your Track Option
You can run the report in one of two ways:
• Single Track — View minutes for one specific track only.
• All Tracks — View minutes across every track in the school at once.
Step 2: Select a Time Period
The report can be generated for:
• A Date Range
• A Month
• A Term
• The Full Year
Step 3: Generate and Print
Once your track and time period selections are made, generate the report. It will display total instructional minutes with excluded time (lunch, recess, etc.) already factored out.

Tips
• Update exclusions before running reports. Since the report calculates based on day templates, any changes to excluded time blocks should be made before generating your report to ensure accuracy.
• Check track assignments. If a track's minutes look incorrect, confirm the correct day template (with the correct exclusions) is applied to that track.
• Use “All Tracks” for school-wide compliance reporting, and “Single Track” when reviewing or auditing a specific program or cohort.
