Parent Portal: Setting Up a Passkey or Authenticator App

AE- Connect now allows parents to add a passkey or authenticator app to their parent portal account for faster, more secure sign-in. Follow the steps below to set this up.

Step 1: Log In to Your Parent Portal

Go to AE- Connect Parent Portal and sign in with your existing username and password.

Step 2: Select the Circle Icon

In the top right corner of the screen, click the circle icon (your profile icon).

Step 3: Select “Update Profile”

A menu will appear. Click Update Profile to open your account settings.

Step 4: Scroll to the Bottom of My Profile

On the My Profile page, scroll all the way down until you reach the Account Security section.

Step 5: Set Up Your Security Options

Under Account Security, you can:

•       Change your password

•       Add a passkey

Parents who set up a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello) will sign in without password their Face ID, Touch ID or Windows Hello will be there password.

•       Add an authenticator app

Parents who set up an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc) will sign in with username, password and six-digit code delivered to the authenticator app.

Once set up, you can use your passkey or authenticator app to log in to your parent portal next time — in place of, or alongside, your password.
