SBG: Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

AE-Connect has Standards-based Grading. The Standards-based includes Social Emotional Learning.

The Social Emotional Learning can be entered each class or in the dedicated section for Social Emotional Learning.

There are three way to enter SEL:

1. By Class for All students
2. By Class for one student
3. In the dedicated SEL section for all students.

The users must publish these before you can complete the report cards.

Accessing Social Emotional Learning by Class for All Students

Users can access Social Emotional Learning in each class  for all student by navigating to the class and selecting the plus (+) to as if you are entering evidence.  The user will navigate to the Behavior section of the "Add Evidence" and select the domain and grade-band you are wanting to evaluate.  The user will then select the domain and skills to evaluate with  1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0.

1. Select the + as if you are going to add an assessment.
2. Select the behavior section of the New Evidence modal.
3. Select the Domain
   1. THIS WILL BE EMPTY ON INITIAL OPEN.
4. Select a Grade-Band
   1. THIS WILL BE EMPTY ON INITIAL OPEN.
   2. NAME the Assessment
5. Select  Standard to evaluate & select the learning goals being evaluated
6. Grade the student on 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0.

Accessing Social Emotional Learning by Class for ONE Students

Users can access Social Emotional Learning in each class  for ONE student by navigating to the class and selecting the smiley face to as if you are entering evidence.  The user will navigate to the Behavior section of the "Add Evidence" and select the domain and grade-band you are wanting to evaluate.  The user will then select the domain and skills to evaluate with  1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0.

1. Select the smiley face next to the student. This will automatically select Behavior and the student.
2. Select the Domain
   1. THIS WILL BE EMPTY ON INITIAL OPEN.
3. Name the Assessment
4. Select  Standard to evaluate & select the learning goals being evaluated
5. Grade the student on 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0.

Accessing Social Emotional Learning via SEL page for grade-group.

Users can access Social Emotional Learning  via the Social Emotional Section of AE-Connect. This allows the user to select a class or a homeroom and group-band to evaluate.

The SEL section can be found in the middle menu or the left side menu near the bottom.

Explanation of Picture

1. Navigate SEL Section of AE-Connect.
2. Select the Grade Group you are evaluating.
3. Select the number to open the model (eg. 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc)

1. Context Type - Select either Homeroom or Class.
2. Context
   1. When Content Type is Homeroom select teacher.
   2. When Content type is class select a class.
3. Name Assessment.
4. Select which standard or learning goal to evaluate.
5. Grade the student on 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0.

Posting SEL to Report Cards

When users are done entering all their SEL for the term. The user should navigate to the SEL section of AE-Connect. The user should select the TERM GRADE Section to publish the SEL assessments.

1. Navigate to SEL Assessments
2. Select Term Grade
3. Select Publish.

The published SEL goals will appear on the bottom of the SBG Report Cards.
