Day Attendance

Overview

Day Attendance pertains to elementary and middle school students and is taken on a daily basis. It is filtered based on students enrolled in a class for the quarter, as well as their assigned homeroom teacher.

To manage attendance, the following prerequisites are necessary:

  1. Assignment as the homeroom teacher for at least one student
  2. Permission to view and edit the Attendance screen.

High School Students need to have Class/Period Attendance taken. Please see this guide.  Class Attendance Guide


Description and Pictures


  1. Access the Day Attendance screen by clicking Attendance in the navigation bar

  1. Attendance will default to viewing Attendance by Day.  The user can navigate to the date picker to choose a new date or change the view of Attendance to Day or  Week. The arrows allow the user to navigate back or forward in dates.


  1. User can take attendance by clicking  the desired attendance code. The code will default to P = Present.

Fill attendance by doing one of the following:

      • Click QuickFill icon to set the selected marking code for all students.
      • Click on the cell next to student to complete individual attendance.
    • User can also click on the cell next to a student to cycle through codes.

Comments

User can enter comments in the Day View & Week View

  • Day View: The user enters comments in the comment box and select save.

  • Week View:  The user selects the + box to open the comment model, entered the comments and saves.   Comments are visible by select the comment icon.

NOTE: You may set the code for AM and PM separately. The first time you choose either AM or PM cells, both cells are filled.

  1. Admin users who have all students will. be able to see the teacher dropdown to select a specific teacher to take attendance for.
  2. Default Codes in AE-Connect are:
    1. A = Absent
    2. Ax= Absent excused
    3. P = Present
    4. T = Tardy
    5. Tx = Tardy excused
